about
Celebrating 25 years of songwriting with this new studio version of an old song of my, Selfish. This was the first song I ever wrote, recorded and published. It was on a cassette demo in 1998 with our garage band Dragon Jones (Kirk Jones, Jake Boula), it showed up on on our 2010 CD demo titled 3lb.Chub (Ron Gillette), and was featured on the 2016 American Highway Live project. It's a 90s breakup song that never went away and it finally gets a shiny mastered studio edition for all it's adventures.
lyrics
I see the lines but the lines don't see me
I walk the wall but the wall won't read me
I live my life but you don't understand me
Tell me why these feelings describe me
It's all about me, it's all about me, I am so selfish, all about me
Walking along with thoughts that scare me
I see your face, so darling, so daring
Please want me, like I love you and
Open your eyes and see the truth in here
It's all about me, it's all about me, I am so selfish, all about me
And you won't be around here anymore
You won't be there to slam that door, oh no
Drive to the place where memories haunt me
The mud and disgrace covering my body
I know now, why you must hate me
It's one simple reason and it's driving me crazy
It's all about me, it's all about me, I am so selfish, all about me
